
The LGBT+ in Facilities Management (FM) network was established in 2016 to address the lack of representation and support for LGBTQI+ individuals within the industry. Since then, it has evolved into a leading platform for advocacy, collaboration, and meaningful change, working to create a more inclusive and equitable FM sector for LGBTQI+ professionals and their allies.

Our mission is to transform the FM industry by fostering a culture where LGBTQI+ individuals feel a true sense of belonging, are valued through education, and have the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive and respectful environment.
Belong – We champion LGBTQI+ representation and inclusion, building a strong, visible community within the FM industry.
Educate – We drive positive change by increasing awareness and understanding of LGBTQI+ experiences and challenges, equipping individuals and organisations with the knowledge to create inclusive workplaces.
Thrive – We empower LGBTQI+ professionals and corporate partners to grow, succeed, and contribute to a more diverse, equitable, and innovative industry.

We aspire to shape an FM industry that is not only welcoming and inclusive but also actively supportive, ensuring that all LGBTQI+ individuals feel they belong and can achieve their full potential without barriers.
It all begins with an idea. That’s how LGBT+ in FM began. With perseverance and belief a few volunteers began to grow that idea into action, and grew a committee.
Our committee members, each bring their passion, time, skillset to helping the FM sector become more inclusive and diverse, and create safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community.
